For nearly four decades, our practice has been a cornerstone of the Scotch Plains, NJ community, dedicated to delivering exceptional eye care services to families across the region.

Our History

Our journey began with visionary founders Dr. Marc and Dr. Paul Levinson, who founded and supported our local community since 1984. Their dedication to excellence laid the foundation for our reputation as trusted optometrists in New Jersey.

Our Team

In February 2023, the practice was entrusted to Dr. Andrew Savitz, a proud Scotch Plains resident. He prioritizes investing in advanced diagnostic technology to enhance the evaluation and management of eye health, ensuring patients receive the highest level of care and support for their vision for years to come. Dr. Savitz is committed to upholding the high standards established by the Levinson brothers while continuing to expand the practice’s focus on comprehensive, compassionate eye care for the local community. 

Joining Dr. Savitz are Dr. Marla Mackey, Dr. Joni Feldbaum-Smith, and Dr. Fenella Shneur.

Dr. Marla Mackey, a Scotch Plains-Fanwood resident, has been a trusted member of the practice and community for over two decades. Her longstanding relationships with patients and commitment to exceptional care have made her a familiar and valued presence for generations of families. Dr. Mackey's expertise extends to the fitting of specialty contact lenses, particularly for patients with corneal abnormalities like Keratoconus. Her dedication to restoring vision and improving vision quality for individuals is evident in all her patient encounters.

Dr. Joni Feldbaum-Smith joined the practice in 2025 and is a respected member of the optometric community. She provides comprehensive eye care, including contact lens fittings, diagnosis and management of ocular conditions, and myopia management. Known for her warm and tailored approach, Dr. Feldbaum-Smith creates a welcoming experience for every patient while delivering exceptional care.

Dr. Fenella Shneur, a neighboring Westfield resident, joined the practice in early 2026 after practicing in New York City and recently moving to Union County. She is a primary care optometrist for patients of all ages, with a special focus on myopia management and Orthokeratology (Ortho-K). Dr. Shneur is known for her attentive, patient-centered approach, taking the time to understand each patient’s needs while providing thoughtful, personalized care.
